Turkish Airlines Issues with Comfort Jet Ticket Downgrade
On March 17, 2024, I purchased a plane ticket from THY for my daughter for July-August from Sabiha Gokcen Airport to London. We chose the Comfort Jet option, which was more expensive within the economy class but included features like seat selection, sandwich service, and higher baggage allowance. Anadolu Jet flights have been transferred to a new entity called Ajet. Despite my ticket being equivalent to the Premium class in Ajet, it was downgraded to the standard class, which is much cheaper and lacks the seat selection and sandwich service we wanted. The current selling price of the Premium class ticket is ₺9,700, while I paid ₺11,300 in March. Normally, the price difference should be refunded to us, and my ticket should be recognized as equivalent, but instead, it was downgraded even further. Despite repeatedly contacting customer service, I received generic responses about general flight and ticketing rules without addressing my specific issue. It is unacceptable to be mistreated by a large and prestigious company like THY. As a last resort, I will also apply to the Consumer Arbitration Committee and share this injustice on all platforms I can.
