Turkish Airlines Flight Mix-Up - Unforeseen Changes and Extra Charges
On February 18, 2024, I bought a flight ticket from Istanbul to Amsterdam and back from Bremen to Istanbul. Although THY tickets are more expensive than other airline tickets, I have a free baggage allowance of 10 kg since I have a Classic Plus membership, and I also chose THY because there are in-flight meals, catering, and in-flight entertainment systems. When I bought the ticket, my outbound flight was TK2943. A flight plan change message came 4 days before the flight. (Appendix 2). I examined the change in the message, as you can see in Appendix 2, they only drew the flight code TK2943 and wrote the new code TK7768 instead. No change of date, place, and time. When I wanted to give baggage on the day of April 5, they said, "We are not THY, we are Ajet, your baggage allowance is not valid here, go and pay". I had to pay 2,757.56 ₺ for 10 kg of luggage. There was no in-flight entertainment, no food, not even tea and coffee. I bought a THY ticket by paying the THY ticket fee, THY is changing the flight to AJET and the notification I received does not have these details, there is only a code change, and the call center misled me by giving incomplete information. My complaint is about THY, and I demand compensation for the payment I did for luggage.
