Turkish Airlines Flight Delay and Baggage Issues
On July 5, 2023, I purchased three tickets for the 22:05 Antalya-Trabzon flight with a layover in Ankara. The flight was delayed twice at Antalya airport, totaling around 65 minutes. When we arrived in Ankara at night, we were informed that the Trabzon flight had already departed. I was with my mother, who has heart and diabetes conditions, and my 2.5-year-old nephew, and I didn't know what to do. They told us we would be sent on the morning flight and asked us to retrieve our luggage. I had to carry two suitcases, a stroller, and a child's bicycle by myself. Meanwhile, the child's bicycle was broken in the baggage handling process, and a report was filed. It was past 01:30 AM. My mother's insulin and medications were in the suitcase, and the child was crying because he was sleepy. They said they could send us to a hotel, but it was at least 2 hours away (Çankaya), and even if we went, they would pick us up at 04:30 for the morning flight. Going to the hotel for half an hour and enduring a 4-hour round trip was pointless. They gave us meal vouchers and told us to wait there until morning. If I were alone, it wouldn't matter, but I had an incredibly difficult night with my sick mother and the child. Moreover, despite reporting the baggage issue for the child's bicycle, they still asked for numerous documents. A report was filed there, I uploaded the pictures to the site, and I provided the purchase price, but now they are asking for a repair certificate. Where can I find a repair place for a plastic three-wheeled child's bicycle? This journey did not meet the standards expected from Turkish Airlines.
