Turkish Airlines Flight Cancellation for TK328 Ganja-Istanbul
On 16.07.2024, we prepared for the Turkish Airlines flight TK328 from Ganja to Istanbul. Upon arriving at the airport, we were informed that the plane was malfunctioning. They offered to send some passengers to Baku by bus, stating that the flight would depart from there. The bus journey from Ganja to Baku takes 6 hours. For passengers who did not want to go to Baku, they were told to come to the airport the next day. When they arrived at the airport the next day, they were told the plane was still malfunctioning and they would again have to go to Baku. Now, on 17.07 (12:00), the remaining passengers were sent to Baku by bus, and the flight was scheduled for 21:00. Passengers on this flight have urgent matters, and this delay has caused significant inconvenience. Some had purchased tickets 3-4 months in advance and ended up facing such disappointment. Did Turkish Airlines not have another plane? Why should a flight scheduled for 16.07 be delayed to 17.07 and require a 6-hour bus journey? Could another plane not come to Ganja? Due to the arrival and/or departure airports not being located in countries where EC 261/2014 regulation applies and the airline not being registered in the EU, I cannot claim compensation for this flight. Until now, our choice has always been Turkish Airlines, but due to the inconvenience faced over the past 2 days, we will change our preference for future flights. I am writing this complaint on behalf of my closest relative.
