Carrefour Keeps Sending Me Debt Emails for Someone Else

1

I am writing to report a serious and persistent problem I have been facing with Cartão Carrefour Brasil regarding debt collection emails sent to me in the name of a person I do not know. For more than a year, I have been receiving debt collection emails several times a week regarding someone called “Jjosé”, who is apparently a Brazilian citizen and debtor of your institution. I am Portuguese, I have no relationship with this person, and I have no debt with Cartão Carrefour Brasil. The emails are being sent to my personal address: cerqueira.deso***@gmail.com. From the beginning, I informed Cartão Carrefour Brasil that I am not the debtor and that the messages are being sent to the wrong person. I have already submitted multiple complaints and clarifications explaining that you are contacting the wrong person and that this situation is unacceptable. Despite this, the emails have continued regularly, approximately three to four times per week for a long period, and I now keep these emails as evidence, because what you are doing feels like harassment and stalking. I request that Cartão Carrefour Brasil immediately stop sending me any debt collection messages related to this other person and permanently remove my email address from any records associated with that debt. In addition, considering the length of time, the frequency of contact, the emotional discomfort and the unnecessary stress caused by this repeated harassment, I also request financial compensation for the damage and inconvenience suffered. I expect a prompt and definitive solution to this situation, as well as a written confirmation that my email has been disassociated from this debt and that no further contact will be made regarding this matter.
