On March 20, 2024, when we arrived at the gate for our Izmir-Istanbul-Sao Paulo flight, we were denied boarding by security officer Y***K***. Despite having our hotel reservation, return ticket, travel health insurance, and $3000 in cash, as well as 4 million ₺ in our bank account, the officer stated that since it was our first time traveling abroad, he did not trust our travel plans and advised us not to wait in vain. The officer's attitude and behavior during our argument were arrogant and disturbing. When we wanted to call the police, he claimed there were no police available and that he had the authority. Initially, he confiscated our passports and tickets and told us to sit and wait for him. After a 20-minute wait, boarding began, but the officer did not approach us. When we went to him, The above mentioned incident occurred. He used a phrase like 'Did you think you could go anywhere just because you got a passport?' I want to ask, 'If so, why does the Republic of Turkey issue us passports? If so, why does THY sell tickets to these countries?' Additionally, our return tickets to Izmir and baggage expenses were not covered. I demand compensation for all material and moral damages. Otherwise, I would like to state that we will pursue legal action due to the restriction of our freedom to travel.
