Turkish Airlines Changed the Destination Citing Weather Conditions But Provided Insufficient Service
On January 21, 2023, my family and I boarded the 09:15 flight from Istanbul to Kahramanmaras. However, due to weather conditions, we were informed that the plane would land in Gaziantep instead, which it did. We were then told that we would be transported to Kahramanmaras by bus. When we went outside to board the bus, we were directed to vehicles with insufficient luggage capacity. Passengers had to place their suitcases in the aisles or on seats, which has been an ongoing issue for about a week. Due to the full seats occupied by luggage, some passengers had to wait for the next vehicle. While I understand the inability to land due to weather conditions, I am disappointed that a proper vehicle with sufficient luggage capacity was not allocated to minimize passenger inconvenience. This situation highlights the importance that one of Turkey's leading airlines places on its passengers. It is unacceptable that this issue, which has been ongoing for a week, is being ignored and not resolved daily.
