Turkish Airlines Canceled the Flight At Last Minute
THY announced the cancellation of the TK2354 Istanbul-Izmir flight just 20 minutes before departure. In 2024, how can a major airline lack the technology and communication to inform passengers of weather issues until the last minute? The THY staff further aggravated the situation with an unprofessional announcement. We followed a THY staff member around the airport for miles without any clear information on the next flight. They gathered at least 200 people into a bus and took us to a hotel after a 1-hour drive. The hotel was chaotic with no order, no queue, and no guidance. In the morning, they told us to check out at 7 AM but made us wait for 40-45 minutes. At the airport, there was no priority given to us, and we were made to stand in the bus holding our luggage while rushing to the plane. Such incompetence and lack of service quality are unprecedented. The entire team failed to be proactive and couldn't even manage to be reactive.
