I Missed My Connection Flight Because Turkish Airlines Rescheduled My Flight
On 27.09.2023, I purchased a ticket for a flight from Izmir to Agri with a layover in Ankara. For the return journey, I booked a ticket through enuygun.com for a flight on 28.09.2023 from Agri to Antalya via Ankara.
However, my flight from Izmir on 27.09.2023 (TK7096) was rescheduled by Turkish Airlines to 28.09.2023, causing me to miss my connecting flight to Antalya. Consequently, I had to stay overnight at the Ankara Ibis Airport Hotel.
Due to the rescheduling, I missed my connecting flight from Agri to Antalya and could not retrieve my luggage. I had paid ₺2,560 for this flight (invoice attached). I tried to resolve this issue by contacting Turkish Airlines customer service every hour for two days and filed a complaint (TK-9481055).
I missed my brother's henna ceremony and lost the deposit I paid for accommodation in Agri. Since flights from Agri were fully booked, I had to purchase new tickets from Erzurum to Antalya via Ankara for ₺3,658.94 (invoice attached). I have suffered significant financial and emotional distress.
At the Ankara Ibis Airport Hotel, we were charged ₺30 for a 0.5-liter bottle of water and a total of ₺570 for our stay (receipts attached).
I do not accept the proposed refund of ₺1,300 in response to complaint TK-9481055. As a citizen, I am deeply disappointed and my trust in Turkish Airlines has been shaken. I request a refund of ₺3,658.94 for the new tickets I had to purchase and ₺570 for the expenses incurred at the hotel. All relevant information and documents are available. I reserve all my legal rights to take this matter to the judicial authorities.
