Seresto Collar Failed to Protect My Dog From Fleas

1

On June 6, 2026, I purchased a Seresto flea collar from Beşiktaş Ortaköy Veterinary Clinic for my 29-kilogram Pit Bull and paid $58 for it. The veterinarian specifically recommended this product, telling me that the collar would effectively repel ticks, fleas, and other types of insects, that its repellent effect was very strong, and that Seresto was one of the best products available. Because my dog has allergies, I was persuaded to purchase this collar based on the assurance that it was the best and most reliable option.

However, since June 19, 2026, my dog has started scratching extremely intensely, has developed sores on its body, and I can actually see fleas jumping on my dog with my own eyes. I also have a video documenting this. I had used the same brand's collar before without experiencing any problems, but this time my dog has suffered significant discomfort and the trust I had in the product has been seriously damaged.

When I returned to the clinic because of the problem, I was told that the fleas on my dog were “walking around in a dazed state.” However, this explanation does not adequately address the problem I experienced or the suffering my dog has endured. At the same time, they also tried to sell me a different tablet product for approximately $33. Since the Seresto collar did not work as expected, I no longer know how I can trust either the brand or the clinic enough to purchase another product from them.

I request that Seresto compensate me for the financial and non-financial harm I have experienced as a result of this collar, which proved ineffective despite being sold as a reliable product, as well as the health problems my dog experienced. I also request that the conduct of Beşiktaş Ortaköy Veterinary Clinic during this process, including the inaccurate or incomplete information provided to me, be investigated. My dog's health problems and resulting sores have caused me significant emotional distress as well as financial loss, and I expect this harm to be properly addressed.
