On 06.04.2024, I purchased a ticket for Istanbul-Trabzon and my girlfriend bought a ticket from Izmir to Trabzon via Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen. It had been about a month since we bought the tickets. Two days ago, we received a notification asking us to confirm our new flight details. I confirmed mine, but my girlfriend's confirmation could not be obtained. After repeatedly calling customer service, they initially blamed the system and asked us to call back. Later, they explained that Anadolu Jet and Turkish Airlines had separated, and therefore, the flight service could not be provided. They offered a new ticket from Izmir to Trabzon via Istanbul Airport but put us on a waiting list without issuing a ticket. Even though we saw availability in a higher class, the customer service representative told us that we needed to pay the fare difference. However, according to the Civil Aviation Regulation SHY-YOLCU, section one, article 11(1), no fee should be charged for upgrading or downgrading. Despite multiple calls to customer service, we learned that our purchased flight tickets were canceled and put on hold. They made no attempts to compensate for this situation. According to the relevant articles of the Civil Aviation Regulation, they are required to compensate, but the airline company is making no effort. We are currently getting no results. We bought the flight tickets about a month in advance by paying the fee. Situations like the separation of airline companies should not affect us. Why does the separation of companies affect me, and why did you sell me this ticket? How can the airline company cancel a flight ticket that I paid for and completed, and not compensate for it? Is this your right? We had planned our flight tickets and schedule about a month in advance. We had timed it for the holiday. We had made reservations for the plane, accommodation, and car. However, trusting Turkish Airlines was a mistake. I wish we had bought the ticket from Pegasus.
