The Body Shop Product Showing Signs of Spoilage

I recently purchased a product as part of a "buy 2, get 1 free" promotion, and I've noticed an unusual odor. I contacted customer service both in writing and verbally. Despite there being no expiration date warning on the product other than the requirement to consume it within one year of opening, the product seems to be defective. During a phone call, I learned from the batch code that the product was manufactured in 2019 and sold in 2021. It's supposed to be consumed within 3 years of production. Was this information provided at the time of sale? Of course not. When I made the purchase, I was only aware of the requirement to consume the product within one year of opening, and now I find that the defective product cannot be exchanged.

Unfortunately, no information was shared. The entire discussion was about how to blame the customer. Nowadays, whatever you buy has the production and expiration date indicated. Today, they say on the phone that the shelf life of the products is 3 years. I bought the product at the end of June 2021, so 3 years have not passed. But I learn over the phone that they sold a product manufactured in 2019 as part of a campaign in 2021, and I was supposed to use it immediately. Was the customer informed that this product was manufactured in 2019? No! Is there any information stating that it should be used immediately? No! So why is the customer responsible for the product spoiling in this case? Unfortunately, it is not possible to close this issue in this way.
