SunExpress Damaged My Luggage, Offered Insufficient Compensation



During my return trip from Munich to Izmir on November 13, 2024, SunExpress damaged my suitcase. I filed a report at the airport, and the damage was acknowledged. However, the replacement suitcase they offered was neither of the same quality nor the same color as the one they broke. I requested monetary compensation instead and was told to communicate via email.
Eventually, I received an offer of ₺1350 for a large suitcase. Since I didn’t keep the receipt for the suitcase I purchased in July, I was forced to accept this insufficient amount, which doesn’t even cover the cost of buying a similar one.
I’m sharing my experience to inform others in similar situations. SunExpress must improve its compensation policies and offer fairer resolutions for damaged luggage.
