During my recent trip with SunExpress (November 1, 2024, Flight XQ868: İzmir to Rome and November 5, 2024, Flight XQ869: Rome to İzmir), I faced an unreasonable situation at check-in. The agent informed us that without completing online check-in, we would need to pay an additional €10 per person.
When I questioned the policy, the agent claimed this rule had been in place for two years. However, just 1.5 months ago, I flew with SunExpress to Madrid without online check-in and wasn’t charged any extra fee. Despite my explanation, the agent insisted on payment or online check-in. To avoid disrupting our trip, I reluctantly paid the fee.
After researching on social media, I found that others have experienced similar inconsistencies, with some passengers not being charged at all. This lack of clear and consistent policy is frustrating and unfair.
I demand SunExpress clarify their check-in policies and refund the additional fee I was unfairly charged. Transparency and fairness are essential for customer trust.
