I Missed My SunExpress Malpensa–Antalya Flight Due to Mismanagement and Got No Refund
On June 21, I was scheduled to fly with SunExpress from Malpensa Airport to Antalya. However, due to what I can only describe as extremely unprofessional and disorganized operations, I—and several other passengers—were unable to board the flight, even though the plane took off at the scheduled time.
The issue began when Malpensa Airport was not informed of the flight or any changes until just a few hours before departure. As a result, we were left in complete confusion. While some passengers scrambled to find alternative flights, others, like myself, had no idea what was happening until we saw online updates—including a confirmation on Twitter that the flight had actually departed.
SunExpress has so far refused to acknowledge the error in communication and management that led to this chaos. They have not taken responsibility for their mistake, and I have yet to receive a refund for the flight I paid for but could not take.
On top of that, I was forced to pay an additional ₺18,000 out of pocket for a last-minute replacement ticket just to get to my destination. I am now demanding that SunExpress officially recognize their operational failure on June 21, fully refund the missed flight, and compensate me for the excessive costs I incurred due to their negligence. It is unacceptable to treat paying customers this way and then hide behind silence.
