I visited the Subway branch next to Habitat Yaşam Merkezi in Şişli Mecidiyeköy to grab a meal. When I first tried to place an order, the staff told me they weren’t accepting orders because the bread wasn’t ready. Fair enough. But just five minutes later, another customer walked in, and their order was accepted without issue.
When I asked for an explanation, I was told I’d have to wait an hour, yet the customer who came after me didn’t face any delay. I questioned this inconsistency, and instead of a proper explanation, two female employees responded rudely, laughed among themselves, and started yelling across the counter.
Eventually, one of them claimed, “We weren’t accepting orders at first, but after our manager gave the go-ahead, we started again.” However, the tone, attitude, and way they handled the situation were extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to customers.
Subway needs to address how its staff treats people — especially at this location. I request a formal apology and that the staff involved be properly trained in customer service and communication etiquette. I won’t be returning until this behavior is corrected.
