Samsung QLED TV Bootloop Issue At 2.5 Years Old And High Repair Cost

July 5, 2024 5:12 PM56

Since September-October 2021, I have been using a Samsung Q60T (Full Model Name: Samsung QE50Q60TAUXTK 50" Q60T 4K QLED TV). During the Euro 2024 match on Tuesday, my television entered a bootloop (continuous restart cycle). It would turn on and off intermittently, occasionally playing brief snippets of audio from the broadcast, but the screen remained black. Even when the screen did turn on, only a faint navy-toned light from the back panel was visible, with no image appearing. This cycle repeated every 3-5 seconds. Initially, I thought it might resolve itself and unplugged it to allow it to rest. However, upon plugging it back in, the issue persisted. So, I contacted Samsung Technical Service. An appointment was scheduled for Thursday, July 4, 2024, and they came to my home for a ₺500 home service fee. The service personnel diagnosed the issue as a faulty front glass on the TV. They explained that in this model, the panel and glass are integrated, and they provided a quote for repair/part replacement totaling ₺15,700. This came as a shock to me, considering that the 2023 series Q60 model from Samsung starts at ₺21,500 in the market. I was expecting a simpler solution such as resetting the TV with a key or special remote, not a costly repair. Furthermore, the service report that evening inaccurately stated that the product had been repaired and returned without damage. In reality, no repair had been performed; I only received a quote for the part from the technical team. It was devastating to face such a high cost for a repair on my 2.5-year-old TV, which is in physically excellent condition and represents three-quarters of its new price. As someone who has always preferred Samsung for electronic devices ranging from the Odyssey monitor, S series phone, vacuum cleaner, washing machine, wireless earbuds, to SSDs, I was disheartened that the company demanded such a substantial amount for a relatively young TV experiencing a bootloop issue without any apparent user error. I firmly believe I have not mishandled the TV in any way. I kindly request Samsung officials to reconsider and examine this product, which is still relatively early in its economic life, and to rectify the malfunction as a gesture of goodwill from the company. I am keen to continue my loyalty to Samsung products. With all due respect,

Samsung 50q60t 50” TV Panel Failure And Continuous Turning On And Off Problem

November 17, 2023 3:39 PM57

"The Samsung brand 50q60t 50” 127 cm screen satellite receiver 4K Ultra HD Smart QLED model TV that I purchased on 08.10.2021 developed a panel malfunction 6 months after the warranty period ended. The TV does not turn on at all; it makes a sound for 2-3 seconds, but there is no picture, and it keeps turning on and off by itself. There is no issue with the electrical connection, and it has not been exposed to liquid or any physical impact. I reported the issue and waited for the Samsung service to come. The Samsung service stated that the panel was burnt, that this was not a user error, and that it was a manufacturing defect from Samsung. They said the panel needed to be replaced and that it would be at a cost since the warranty had expired 6 months ago. They said they could replace the panel for a fee of 17,950 TL and left. I bought the TV 2 years and 6 months ago for 6,000 TL. There is no guarantee that replacing the panel won't result in the same issue. Moreover, it was mentioned that panel burnouts are common in the 50q60t series. It is extremely alarming that a brand as reliable as Samsung would charge such a horrendous amount of 17,950 TL to replace the panel for a TV that broke down after 2 years and 6 months and is not under warranty. If I had known I would experience this situation, I would never have chosen a Samsung TV. I hope they will carry out the panel replacement free of charge. My expectation from Samsung is that, as a company that fits the brand's image and instills confidence, they should perform the replacement free of charge. Asking for 17,950 TL for an issue that is not a user error but a manufacturing defect in this Samsung TV series frankly leads to distrust in the brand and is disgraceful. I have been truly victimized. I urgently want my TV to be repaired free of charge."
