Mytrip Sold Ticket Without Promised 40kg Baggage, Refund Still Pending
I purchased a ticket through Mytrip for my friend abroad, clearly expecting it to include 40kg baggage allowance. However, when I checked the airline’s website, the ticket showed only hand luggage. I immediately contacted Mytrip call center and spent days trying to get this corrected.
Eventually, someone named “Cafer” from the resolution team reached out, stating he would contact the airline to add the baggage. Later, he called back saying it was not possible to add baggage, but assured me that the ticket would be fully refunded without deductions, even giving me the refund amount.
Now, with the flight time approaching, I am still waiting for someone from Mytrip to finalize and confirm the refund process. I have also attached screenshots showing the ticket details both on Mytrip and on Etihad’s system.
This should have been a very simple issue to resolve, yet it has turned into a stressful and time-consuming process. Unless this matter is handled immediately and the full refund processed, I will have no choice but to pursue this through legal channels. I also want to note that, after this experience, I am unlikely to ever book through Mytrip again.
It is impossible to understand how companies like these can operate in Turkey. There is outright deception and they constantly prolong the process over the phone with various excuses. For months, there has not been a single response, and every time I call, they drag out the process with all sorts of excuses and false or misleading information. I am not sure if they have a representative office in Turkey. Therefore, I don't know if there is any legal basis or if this is a matter for consumer arbitration boards, but I have no intention of giving up my rights. I am specifically writing here so that someone can read and be informed.
