I purchased a flight ticket through Mytrip.com, and the baggage allowance listed on their site clearly stated that I could bring one backpack and an 8 kg carry-on suitcase. Trusting this information, I packed accordingly.
However, when I arrived at the airport, the airline informed me that their policy does not allow both a backpack and a suitcase. They told me everything I had must be weighed together as one single cabin bag, and that I was only entitled to one item—not two. As a result, I was forced to pay an extra €50 at the airport just to check in my bag.
This unexpected fee was the direct result of Mytrip’s inaccurate baggage information. Their platform advertised policies that were not aligned with the airline’s actual rules. This is completely misleading and causes surprise costs for customers who believe they’ve followed the rules.
To make matters worse, I tried to contact Mytrip’s customer service to resolve the issue—but after waiting nearly 40 minutes, no one picked up, and I had to hang up.
I demand that Mytrip reimburse the €50 I was forced to pay due to their incorrect baggage policy listed on the booking. This kind of misinformation and lack of accessible support is unacceptable and must be corrected immediately to prevent more travelers from being misled.
