I subscribed to HBO Max today with a paid membership, and I am extremely disappointed with the quality of the Turkish subtitles, especially in foreign productions. In shows like Game of Thrones and other international series I tried to watch, the subtitles contain clear translation errors, missing context, and awkward phrasing.
As someone who has previously watched these shows on other platforms, including free ones, I find it unacceptable that HBO Max provides such poor subtitle quality. A viewer who does not already know the context of the scenes would struggle to understand the dialogue, emotions, and intent of the characters based on these subtitles. As someone who prefers subtitles over dubbing, this issue significantly affects my ability to enjoy the platform.
I expect HBO Max to professionally review and correct the Turkish subtitles, eliminate translation errors and inconsistencies, and ensure that viewers can fully understand the scenes as intended. For a paid platform, the subtitle quality should meet a much higher standard and provide a proper viewing experience.
