Havaist Sold My Mother’s Confirmed Seat to Another Passenger
On May 17, I purchased a ticket for my mother through the Havaist website for the Sabiha Gökçen–Balıkesir route, specifically for the May 19, 7:15 p.m. departure.
After completing the purchase, I did not receive any confirmation message. To prevent my mother from experiencing any problems during her trip, I first tried to check the reservation using the PNR code through the “My Tickets” section on the website. Since nothing appeared there either, I then contacted customer service directly.
During the call, I explained to the customer service representative that no confirmation message had arrived, that I could not see the ticket in the “My Tickets” section, and that I wanted to make sure everything was correct because my mother would be traveling alone.
The representative asked for the PNR number and passenger name and then clearly confirmed that there was no issue and that the ticket had been successfully purchased. I was specifically told that my mother could board the bus using the PNR code and seat number information. I was also informed that the “My Tickets” section on the website was not functioning properly.
However, when my mother went to board the bus at Sabiha Gökçen today, she was told that her seat had already been sold to someone else.
Despite the fact that I repeatedly checked and confirmed the reservation specifically to avoid this exact situation, my mother experienced serious inconvenience and distress. The payment had already been charged to my card, yet she was unable to board the bus and was forced to purchase another ticket for the following day.
There may have been a technical issue during the online purchase process, but the reservation was also directly confirmed by Havaist customer service. For this reason, the entire situation reflects a serious lack of professionalism and reliability.
I request that Havaist investigate this issue thoroughly, explain how a confirmed and paid seat could be sold to another passenger, and compensate the financial and emotional inconvenience caused by this incident.
