H&M Black Jeans Collect Excessive Lint After One Wear – Denied Return Due to Alterations

I purchased two pairs of jeans from H&M on October 9th, and after getting the black pair altered, I wore them yesterday. To my disappointment, they started collecting an excessive amount of lint, making it look like snow had fallen on them. I contacted customer service, but they refused to assist because the jeans were altered. However, I needed the alterations to be able to wear them. There was no way for me to know about this issue until I wore the jeans, and within an hour, they were completely covered in lint. Other brands allow returns for the smallest issues, yet H&M refused to help with what is clearly a manufacturing defect. I will be taking this to the Consumer Arbitration Committee, and I won’t be shopping at H&M again.
