GEICO Cancelled My Policy After Missed Payment – Request Reinstatement

July 16 3:27 PM

I am writing regarding my GEICO auto insurance policy, which was suddenly cancelled after a missed payment and has now left me with an outstanding balance of around $3,114.39 and no coverage since yesterday. I was not properly informed about the cancellation in a way I could clearly understand in time to prevent this situation, and I only realized the problem when my account was restricted and I could no longer use my American Express card. Because my Amex account could not be used, I had to transfer funds to my debit card just to manage basic expenses, which has created additional financial stress. I have a learning disability, and I am trying my best to handle my responsibilities, but this situation and the way it has been handled have made me feel that my circumstances and limitations have not been taken into account at all. When I contacted GEICO and tried to explain, I was told that I owe a little over $3,000, but I did not feel that my side of the situation, or the difficulties I face because of my learning disability, were truly heard or considered. The sudden cancellation and the size of the amount they say I owe have left me feeling overwhelmed and unprotected. I respectfully request that GEICO waive this outstanding amount and help me get my auto insurance account reinstated so that I can have coverage again. I also ask that GEICO take my learning disability and financial situation into consideration and handle my case with more understanding and flexibility.
