Garmin Wants Extra Payment For Dezl 1000 Repair

July 18, 2025 1:03 PM5

I purchased my Garmin Dezl 1000 navigation device from MediaMarkt on May 2, 2023, and it recently stopped working. When I sent it to Baytekin for repair, I was told that the main board was burned and that repairing it was “not possible.” Instead, they offered to send me a new device only if I paid an additional $909.

This experience has made me feel that choosing Garmin — a brand I trusted for its quality — was a mistake. Replacing the device for an additional fee, rather than repairing it, is not something I would expect from Garmin. It is disappointing that a brand known for durability would handle the issue this way.

I request a proper solution, ideally a repair or a fair replacement option, without forcing customers to pay such a high additional cost.
