I Face an Excessive Repair Fee for My Lenovo Tab 11 Pro Despite Extended Warranty
I purchased my Lenovo Tab 11 Pro tablet in 2023 from the MediaMarkt store in Kayseri Forum mall and also bought an additional warranty/insurance package. Despite this, I have had a serious issue with the tablet for about 1.5 months: it no longer turns on at all. Because of this problem, I sent the device to service twice, roughly 10 days apart. My service records are T018-96228-R-C and T018-97006-R-C.
After inspection, I was told that the mainboard needs to be replaced for $960. However, the current sale price for a brand-new Lenovo Tab 11 Pro is only about $590.
It is unreasonable that the cost of a single part — the mainboard — is significantly higher than the market price of the complete device. Moreover, instead of resolving the issue, the service appears to be pressuring the store, and I have been given only temporary, unclear answers. Even though I have an extended warranty, I have not been offered a fair solution, a discounted fee, or alternative options such as replacement.
Being asked to pay such an exorbitant fee for a device under warranty is unacceptable. I request that my Lenovo Tab 11 Pro be repaired free of charge under warranty — without charging the mainboard replacement fee — or that a reasonable alternative be provided immediately, so I do not suffer a financial loss. I expect this matter to be reconsidered and resolved promptly.
