Garanti BBVA Issued My Credit Card with Zero Limit and Won't Increase It
I became a Garanti Bank customer online through Hangi Kredi and requested a credit card. The card was issued and sent to me, but with a "₺0.00" limit. The contact center informed me that I could only receive a limit if I either reduced or closed my existing credit limits with other banks. In response, I closed one card and reduced the limits of two others, repeatedly requesting a limit over two months, yet no limit was granted. Now, I’m being told that I cannot be given a limit higher than four times my salary, although my current limit is already less than that. The bank is now asking me to visit in person and provide documents, further prolonging the process.
I have been using credit cards for 20 years, and even as a student, I never missed or delayed a payment. My credit payments have always been regular. I am a teacher and consistently pay according to my income. Yet, despite this, I find it strange that many of my friends, who are in much more difficult financial situations, have Garanti Bonus cards, but I am unable to get one. I deeply regret getting involved with Garanti. After all the scanning of my identity and records with the credit bureau, I don’t understand the point of becoming an online customer if I still have to go to the branch with paperwork. It has been a waste of time, and now I can’t reopen my closed card or raise my other limits.
