easyJet Refused to Reimburse My Replacement Flight After Cancellation
I am writing regarding the cancellation of easyJet flight EJU4542 on May 8, 2026, and the financial loss we suffered as a result.
Our flight was canceled only approximately 40 minutes to one hour before boarding was due to begin. Because the cancellation was communicated so late, we had virtually no opportunity to make alternative travel arrangements. Furthermore, we were not provided with any assistance such as meals, refreshments, accommodation, or an alternative flight.
The original easyJet tickets for two passengers, which cost approximately €150–€200, became unusable. As we had to travel, we were forced to purchase replacement tickets on another airline from Milan Malpensa (MXP) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) at a total cost of €525.78 for two passengers.
While we were at the airport, easyJet representatives verbally assured us that the cost of these replacement tickets would be reimbursed.
However, after submitting a formal compensation request to easyJet, I was informed that my claim had been rejected. Considering that the flight was canceled at the last minute, no meaningful assistance was provided, and we relied on the verbal assurance given by your staff, the rejection of our claim has significantly increased the inconvenience and financial loss we have suffered.
I also have a copy of the written response from easyJet rejecting my claim and can provide it if required.
I respectfully request that easyJet reimburse the €525.78 we paid for the replacement flights between Milan Malpensa (MXP) and Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and provide a clear written explanation of the reasons for rejecting my original reimbursement request.
I trust that this matter will be reviewed carefully and resolved fairly in light of the circumstances surrounding the cancellation and the assistance that was promised to us at the airport.
Thank you for your attention. I look forward to your prompt response.
