I purchased my Dyson V15 vacuum cleaner for around $350, believing it to be a high-quality and long-lasting product. However, the plastic trigger handle piece broke on its own — without any impact, drop, or misuse. The product’s warranty period is two years, and this issue occurred in the third year.
After the problem appeared, I contacted customer service, and they told me that only a paid replacement could be offered — no other solution was available. For the replacement part, they quoted a price of about $130, which I find extremely high.
For such an expensive product, having such an important part break so soon, and then being asked to pay a large amount for repair, is very disappointing. I chose this vacuum specifically for its durability, but this experience has seriously shaken my trust in the brand.
The product’s serial number is already registered in the system, and I use it in Bursa, Turkey. This is the first time I’ve encountered such an issue.
Although the warranty period has expired, I am requesting a free replacement of the broken part, as the failure occurred within a short time frame and was not caused by user error.
