I Face Refund Denial From Carjet After Unexpected €1,000 Deposit Request at İzmir Airport
On September 19, 2025, I rented a Peugeot 208 through Carjet at İzmir Airport. During the booking process, there was no mention of any deposit requirement. However, when I arrived to pick up the car, the rental company demanded a €1,000 deposit. Since this condition had never been disclosed beforehand, I refused to accept the vehicle and requested to cancel the reservation.
In total, I paid 10,000 TL (around $335), including the insurance policy. Despite canceling on-site due to misleading terms, no refund has been issued. I attempted to reach Carjet through their website, but I could not find a valid email address, and the Malta phone number provided on their page is also unreachable.
This is the first time I have experienced such an issue, and I feel completely misled and unsupported. I request an immediate refund of the full amount I paid, as the deposit condition was never communicated prior to booking and the service was not rendered.
