On July 10, I made a hotel reservation in Milan via Booking.com as part of my visa application process. Due to delays in the visa procedure, the amount was charged to my card. My plans changed, and I canceled the reservation. Now, four months have passed, and I still haven’t received my refund. To make matters worse, I’ve had to pay interest on the charged amount.
Booking.com’s customer service in Turkey is completely unreachable. I’ve had no choice but to call the UK-based number, which incurs additional costs. Despite being promised responses within 48 hours, their emails take at least a week, sometimes two, to arrive. The responses claim the refund has been processed by the hotel, yet no money has been returned to my account.
To complicate matters further, my bank card is now closed. I’ve filed multiple disputes with both my bank and Booking.com, yet there has been no resolution. I will find a way to resolve this issue eventually, but I strongly urge others to avoid Booking.com to prevent falling into the same frustrating situation. Booking.com must act urgently to resolve this matter and refund my money immediately.
