Booking.com Hotel Reservation Canceled Without Notice and Caused Major Inconvenience
Between August 18–22, 2025, I had an international reservation at Hotel Potos through Booking.com (Confirmation No: 6317950028). My booking was confirmed on August 17, 2025, at 22:08. However, the very next morning on August 18, I received two unexpected emails—one from the hotel at 08:46, and another from Booking.com at 09:00—informing me that my reservation had been canceled. Unfortunately, I did not see these emails in time since I was traveling internationally that morning.
When I arrived at the hotel, the front desk staff directly told me that my reservation was canceled, leaving me and my family of four without a place to stay. Although we did not lose money from the booking itself, we lost the entire first day of our vacation searching for a new hotel and settling in. This caused not only financial inconvenience but also significant frustration and emotional stress.
I expect Booking.com to provide a detailed explanation of why my confirmed reservation was canceled without prior notice or valid reason. In addition, I request compensation for the disruption and inconvenience my family and I experienced, as this situation ruined the beginning of our trip.
I call on Booking.com to take responsibility, clarify the cause of this cancellation, and offer appropriate compensation to make up for the disruption to our travel plans.
