I made a last-minute reservation in Budapest, completed the payment instantly, and arrived at the property expecting a smooth check-in. However, when I got there, no one answered the phone, leaving us stranded.
I immediately contacted Booking.com, and they told me they had sent me a link via email for assistance. No such link ever arrived, and neither my registered email nor my phone number received any message. I asked Booking.com to resend the link to my registered contact details, but they refused, claiming it was against company policy.
Since we couldn’t even enter the property, I requested to cancel the reservation. That’s when Booking.com informed me of a €184 penalty fee, which was the exact amount I had already paid. So, not only did I lose my money, but I also never even used the accommodation.
Booking.com is quick to take payments, but when it comes to solving real problems, they hide behind their policies and refuse to help. I demand a full refund for a service I never received. This experience has been beyond frustrating—Booking.com, fix this now!
