Arçelik Delayed My Refrigerator Replacement Last Minute

On Monday, July 14, 2025, following my complaints about a refrigerator malfunction, Arçelik decided to offer a replacement at half the price. I was told by the authorized service in Burhaniye, Balıkesir, that they would deliver and replace the refrigerator between 10:00 and 12:00 on that day, and I had already completed the necessary arrangements on Thursday, July 10. This morning at 9:20 AM, they called to say they wouldn’t be coming during the promised time slot and would instead arrive between 16:00 and 18:00. To avoid delaying the service, I had emptied the refrigerator by 9:00 AM, even though it was full and we’re in the middle of a hot July day with 40°C temperatures. I removed everything—meat, dairy, even frozen items—to be ready, knowing that once the new fridge arrives, I’d still have to wait another two hours before using it. Now all my food will spoil by evening, and the service simply says there's nothing they can do. After three business days of planning and preparing, their last-minute change is unacceptable.

"I waited almost 2 weeks in the July heat for the service to come for the broken refrigerator. The Menemen authorized service did not show up for the appointment and offered excuses like "we can't always come to that area" / "we couldn't reach you by phone." Not only did my products spoil, but I also had to wait for my neighbor to come home from work in the evening for cold water. However, when the Arçelik service finally came, they replaced the broken refrigerator compressor and did not charge me. Therefore, although it was late, the mistake was corrected, and customer satisfaction was achieved. Customers need to be able to contact the local authorized service directly. If the service technician is not going to come to the appointment for some reason, the customer should not be kept waiting at home all day like a slave."
