Apple Quoted Me a New Laptop Price to Fix My 13-Inch M2 MacBook Air Under Warranty
On October 17, 2024, we purchased a 13-inch MacBook Air with an M2 chip in Starlight. Recently, some keys on the keyboard suddenly stopped working, and shortly after, none of the keys or the touchpad functioned. Since it is a relatively new device and still under warranty, we took it to the Sakarya Troy branch, where it was sent for service. However, they claimed it was a user error and quoted an unreasonably high repair cost. I cannot accept this. Supposedly, the product is under warranty. While we have been satisfied with Apple products, whenever we encounter an issue and send the product for warranty repair, we are always told it is a user error, followed by a demand for exorbitant fees. It’s disheartening. I always advocate for Apple among friends and family, but when they see situations like this, they tell me not to shop from Apple, which honestly embarrasses me. The fee being requested is nearly the price of a new laptop, and we cannot afford it at the moment. If such high costs are required under warranty, what is the point of having one? Why should I choose Apple? I am not asking for a free repair, but this amount is excessively high for a recently purchased product. All my devices are from Apple, but these experiences are pushing us away from the brand, which is upsetting. Could you please help with this issue?
