On April 16, I purchased an Xbox gamepad from Amazon Turkey. Before buying, I contacted Amazon customer service to ask if I could return the product if it didn’t meet my expectations. They assured me that I could return the item within a month, even if the package was opened. I had previously returned an electronic product to Amazon without any issues, so I felt confident in their policy.
After using the gamepad, I decided it wasn’t worth the price compared to similar options and initiated a return. The seller rejected my return, claiming the product was deformed, which they defined as being dusty. I contacted Amazon, and a representative named E*** Ş**** A***** promised to handle the situation. She advised me to wait 48 hours after sending a follow-up email if the initial response was negative, and she would ensure my refund under their A-to-Z guarantee. However, she never followed up.
After waiting four days, I called again and was told by another representative that they couldn’t access E***'s notes but would inform her of the urgency. Five more days passed with no action. The seller returned the product and issued a token ₺1 refund, falsely appearing as if they had processed the return.
Fifteen days later, I contacted customer service again and was told that my refund had been processed. It took my correction for them to realize it was only ₺1. The representative assured me that E*** would get back to me. Twenty days later, I called once more and was told to file a new request. The representative asked for my return reason, and I said I didn’t need the product. He inaccurately recorded the issue as "broken item" on the form and told me to wait again.
In short, Amazon Turkey neither stands behind the products they sell nor addresses customer concerns adequately. They seem to delay resolutions, hoping customers give up. There is no Amazon quality or care involved—they make no effort to resolve issues. I spent a month waiting with no satisfactory response. Their A-to-Z guarantee is just a myth. Shop elsewhere to avoid disappointment and protect your money. If they had initially told me opened electronics couldn't be returned (which is usually understandable), I would have been fine. My issue is that they initially assured me everything was fine but failed to uphold their promise.
Below are photos of the gamepad, both dusty (as sent by the seller) and clean.
