I recently rented a property on Airbnb, but within 5 minutes I realized it wasn’t right for me and immediately canceled the booking. I expected a full refund of ₺2,040 since the cancellation was almost instant, but no refund was issued. This felt completely unreasonable, especially given how quickly I acted.
There were several red flags that made me cancel. The listing showed the host as a woman, yet the person who called me was a man. Additionally, the description and photos suggested a property setup that didn’t seem realistic — for example, the absence of security cameras in such a building seemed highly unlikely. These inconsistencies made me uncomfortable and led me to cancel right away.
I believe Airbnb should honor a full refund in cases where a booking is canceled within minutes and no service has been provided. I request that my ₺2,040 be returned immediately and that Airbnb review this listing to ensure it meets accuracy and safety standards so other customers don’t face similar issues.
