I Booked an Airbnb Based on False Info and Didn’t Get a Refund After Immediate Complaint

I made a reservation through Airbnb while on the road and arrived at the property within two hours of booking. The listing’s photos and the details provided by the host were completely misleading. When we arrived, the actual condition and location of the property were nothing like what was shown online. Even the photo the host sent of the door was different from the entrance we found in person — this alone shows how misleading the listing was.

We immediately contacted the host to explain the issue and requested a cancellation and full refund, but they refused to cancel or return the payment. We then turned to Airbnb’s Resolution Center, hoping they would help — but they were completely unresponsive and unhelpful.

This situation left us stranded and forced to look for another place to stay last-minute. The inaccurate listing information caused real harm, and the host’s dishonesty was backed by Airbnb’s inaction. Allowing hosts to mislead guests and ignoring valid complaints like ours undermines trust in the platform.

We are requesting a full refund of the ₺ amount we paid, as we were misled and did not receive the service promised. Airbnb must stop allowing false listings to remain active and start protecting travelers who are trying to book in good faith.
