Airbnb Approved Payment Claim Despite No Evidence of Damage
I rented a home through the Airbnb app in Kyrenia, Cyprus, for the dates November 12–13, 2025, with the listing code hmqnqwkdwc. Although my stay was completely trouble-free, after I checked out, the host accused me of stealing items from the property and demanded a charge of 2,800 Turkish lira (~$67 USD) to be collected from my credit card, without presenting any concrete evidence to support the allegation.
During this process, I contacted Airbnb customer support, and despite the fact that I committed no wrongdoing or damage and that there is no evidence in the case file, I was informed that a final payment decision had been made against me. Although the amount has not yet been charged to my credit card, I categorically reject this payment decision, which is unsupported by evidence and has no legal basis.
I believe that making such an accusation and imposing a payment obligation without any concrete proof violates good faith principles and consumer rights. Therefore, I request that the decision against me be reconsidered objectively, that the case be closed due to lack of evidence, and that no charge be made to my credit card. Otherwise, I hereby state that I will pursue all my legal rights due to this unjustified attempt to collect payment.
