On November 15, 2025, I rented an apartment in Kyrenia, Northern Cyprus through Airbnb under reservation number HM5ETH8TFQ, listed under the host name Irine. Even though there was no warning or information in the listing description, about 10–15 days after booking—and just one day before my stay—I was informed that the place was actually just a single room inside a house, and that other people would be staying in the remaining rooms. I had already paid $187 USD by credit card, believing that I was renting the entire apartment.
I contacted Airbnb customer service about the situation. They told me to cancel the reservation through the app and said that the refund would be issued once the host approved it. Although the host confirmed that they approved the cancellation, I never received any confirmation, refund, or payment back. I never checked in; I canceled solely due to misleading and incomplete information.
I believe the listing description was insufficient and misleading. I was put at a disadvantage throughout this process, and I request a full refund of $189 USD for the payment I made.
