I Face Misleading Furniture, Broken Appliances, and Poor Service with Airbnb Kyrenia Rental

Between June 14–22, 2024, I rented a property in Kyrenia, Cyprus through Airbnb (confirmation code: HMK99D2XSW) for which I paid around ₺30,000. From the moment we arrived, the property did not match the listing description. The advertised reclining sofa was not there; instead, there was an old, uncomfortable sofa bed that creaked loudly and was impossible to use for rest.
The washing machine flooded the entire house twice, forcing me to spend hours cleaning instead of being able to relax. On top of that, the home was infested with ants, making it impossible to leave any food on the table without it being covered.
The worst part was the behavior of the host. My wife and I were in Cyprus for IVF treatment. After a medical procedure, she accidentally left a blood thinner injection on the table. Instead of showing understanding, the host repeatedly brought this up, speaking to us in a disrespectful and accusatory tone as if we had done something wrong. This added unnecessary stress at a time when we needed rest. While my wife had to lie down due to her treatment, I spent hours sitting uncomfortably on a chair because of the missing sofa we had been promised.
I reported all these issues to Airbnb customer support, but they dismissed my concerns, saying I had no photo proof and that the host had since replaced the sofa with a better one. This response ignores the reality that I was misled, inconvenienced, and disrespected during my stay.
I am requesting that Airbnb compensate me for this experience by refunding at least 20% of the total payment. I also expect Airbnb to take responsibility for ensuring that property descriptions are accurate and that hosts treat guests with basic respect. Without accountability, customers like me will continue to face serious disappointment and financial loss.
