When a GPay payment fails but your card is charged, the first step is to check the transaction status in both Google Pay and your bank app, because many of these are pending or reversed automatically within a few hours or up to 3–5 business days.
Failed-but-charged payments are often temporary authorizations that drop off without action.
If the charge doesn’t reverse, contact the merchant first with the transaction ID shown in GPay, since only the merchant can confirm whether they received the money.
If the merchant confirms failure or is unresponsive after a few days, contact your bank/card issuer and request a chargeback or dispute, explaining that the service was not completed.
If none of the above solutions work, please feel free to share your experience. You can also file a complaint on our website.
