Unexpected Seating Rules on Turkish Airlines for Family Travel
I purchased tickets for my wife and six-year-old child on THY. When I logged into the online system to select seats 24 hours before the flight, I saw that two seats were assigned together and one separately. As is known, additional fees are required for desired seats. Since we are traveling as a family, I called customer service and requested, 'The ticket holders are my wife and daughter, can you provide three seats together?' Unfortunately, the system cannot assign adjacent seats. Free seats will be available six hours before the flight, so I will try again. 1 - THY is always known as a company that respects its passengers. I hope it continues to remain so. 2 - Considering factors like our ethical rules, religious sensitivities, and family structure, especially when traveling as a family, this situation is not pleasant. Moreover, if a foreign company did this, we would seek different outcomes and rightfully criticize them. 3 - Additionally, even when people buy multiple tickets at once, this situation should be respected. In summary: It saddened me that THY is also taking this path while other companies' greed violates sensitivities. If this attitude begins and we ignore the small amounts of money requested, everything will inevitably revolve around money. As in recent days, we will just wait for our turn by looking. Greetings to those who think this is irrelevant.
