THY is known for its reliability and corporate image. However, the situations it puts its customers in reveal otherwise. On September 1, 2023, we purchased a ticket to Moscow from THY for ₺15,183. We upgraded the outbound ticket to business class by paying an additional ₺21,000. Due to an unforeseen issue with our passport at the control, we couldn't take the flight. Our ticket was put on hold, and we were told we could use it for a future flight. When we tried to use the ticket for a later flight, we were asked to pay a significantly higher amount. We ended up paying an additional ₺19,516 to change our ticket. Despite the initial ticket being in business class, the new ticket was issued in economy class, and the upgrade fee was not refunded. Customer relations claim that a refund is not possible, leaving us in a difficult situation.
