Turkish Airlines Refund Issue with Istanbul-Miami Ticket
On 04.12.2023, I purchased a round-trip ticket from Istanbul to Miami, departing on 04.12.2023 and returning on 01.02.2024. Due to uncertainty about my return date, I opted for the economy class (h) package, which includes a full refund guarantee. The normal round-trip ticket price was ₺20,000, but I paid an additional ₺10,000 for the refund guarantee, totaling ₺30,000.
When I attempted to cancel my return ticket, the calculated refund amount was approximately ₺860. I contacted customer service, but they informed me that this service is ineffective unless it is also added to the departure ticket. I then emailed THY to explain my situation, but the response was the same.
If this service is ineffective on its own, these packages should not be sold separately. As shown in the attached image, I am requesting a full refund for my return ticket. Otherwise, I will escalate this issue to all relevant authorities.
