Turkish Airlines Last-Minute Flight Change Ruined My Family Vacation Plans
Our scheduled flight on October 29th from Antalya (Alanya) to Istanbul at 22:55 was changed by Turkish Airlines to a morning flight at 09:40. We planned this trip as a family for a three-day end-of-season getaway. We had made hotel reservations, and our kids were already thrilled. Our plans were seriously thrown off by a major 12-hour shift. After receiving the SMS and email notification, we promptly contacted the airline. We proposed a more practical solution: given the cancellation of the Alanya flight in the evening, we recommend rescheduling our trip on one of the numerous evening flights departing from the main Antalya airport. In spite of the inconvenience and extra expenses (such as hotel cancellation fees and forfeited early booking discounts), they declined our request and only suggested rescheduling our trip to Alanya for a different day, which wasn't possible due to our children's school and our work commitments. In the past, even a small adjustment of five minutes was enough to allow for a complete rebooking. It's disheartening to see a well-regarded company place more importance on minor profits than on ensuring customer happiness. I want to bring attention to this unjust treatment.
