Turkish Airlines Rescheduled My Flight and This Caused Negative Consequences
I was informed by Turkish Airlines that my flight TK2677 from Mardin to Istanbul on 11.12.2023, originally scheduled for 17:50-20:05, was changed due to operational reasons. This notification was given just a day before my outbound flight on 09.12.2023, and the return flight was rescheduled to 10:15/12:30 on the same day.
However, this change has created negative consequences for me as a customer. Despite having planned this trip months and bearing all related costs, the sudden change without consulting me has adversely affected both my work and travel plans. Due to this change, I had to reschedule my return flight to the morning of the next day (12.12.2023), incurring additional accommodation and car rental costs. I requested immediate resolution and reimbursement for the incurred costs, but my request was denied, citing that the change was communicated in advance and operational changes can occur.
These reasons are unacceptable; the entire flight plan should be considered as a whole, and it was purchased as a round trip. All arrangements were made for a return on 11.12.2023 at 17:50. However, the change to a 10:15 morning flight has taken up my entire day, forcing me to return in the morning instead of the evening, disrupting my plans.
In summary, my trip to Mardin, which was planned to fit into two nights and three days, has been reduced to two days. Operational changes are Turkish Airlines' responsibility, and customers should not be inconvenienced in this manner. Despite repeatedly filing complaints and providing feedback over the phone, I have yet to receive a satisfactory response.
