Turkish Airlines Izmir-Istanbul Flight Issue
On April 13, 2024, despite being at the counter 45 minutes before the 19:00 Izmir-Istanbul flight and having completed online check-in, I was not allowed to board. When I requested to be transferred to the next flight, I was told I needed to purchase a new ticket and no assistance was provided. The reason given was the holiday rush, which they used as an excuse to sell extra tickets, ignoring passengers who had already purchased tickets. I am certain that if I knew someone, this issue would have been resolved quickly. Additionally, the information system is inadequate; I did not receive any notifications or reminder messages. I need to be at work on Monday, and I cannot find any tickets. I am requesting that this issue be resolved. To address my inconvenience, I bought a ticket for a flight hours later with a different airline, landing on the Asian side. I can understand the crowd, but as a customer who purchased a ticket, I find it difficult to understand the 'there's nothing we can do' approach. It is disappointing that a global company operates with such a simple method. I will be submitting my complaint on all necessary platforms.
