My ticket purchased from Turkish Airlines was canceled without any reason. As a result of my complaint, I was awarded a compensation of 400€. However, Turkish Airlines wants to pay this amount in ₺ based on the exchange rate on the date the check was issued, or they require an international € IBAN.
Since around January, despite my request to receive the payment in €, they insist on paying in ₺. If they are to pay in ₺, I requested that it be based on the exchange rate on the date of the EFT transaction. However, they did not respond positively to this either. Even when I provided a € IBAN, they did not accept it, demanding an international IBAN outside of Turkey. Despite the significant difference between 40€ and 400€, Turkish Airlines believes they are in a more advantageous position than Turkish citizens.
They mentioned that they would pay approximately 500-600₺ or less. As of March 4th, despite sending multiple emails, my payment has still not been refunded. If you purchase a ticket in € and it gets canceled, and you are a Turkish citizen, they pay based on the exchange rate on the date the check was issued. If you want the payment in €, they require an international IBAN. It seems everyone is acting according to their own rules.
