Turkish Airlines Flight Seat Change Without Reason
On September 10, 2023, at 09:30, I traveled on THY flight 1868 from Venice to Istanbul. While waiting at the gate to board, my name was announced. When I approached, I was informed that the seat on my ticket (8A) was broken and needed to be changed. They assigned me seat 20F instead. Upon boarding, I noticed another passenger sitting in the supposedly broken seat. I explained the situation to the flight attendant, who confirmed that the person in that seat had a ticket with that seat number and mentioned that the error was on the ground services' part. They assured me that a complaint would be filed on my behalf. However, no official has since explained the reason for this issue. A reputable airline like THY should not have lied to me (claiming the seat was broken) just to give my seat to someone else. I also believe I deserve an apology.
