Turkish Airlines Flight Delay Caused Missed Connection
I booked a connecting flight with Turkish Airlines from Izmir to Sivas. The Izmir flight initially reported a 20-minute delay, then a 30-minute delay, and finally took off after 40 minutes. When the plane landed in Istanbul, I rushed through the transfer area (I am 55 years old and have hypertension) and reached the gate, but despite having 20 minutes before the flight's departure, the doors were already closed. Along with me, six other passengers missed the flight. Now, I am put up in a hotel waiting for tomorrow, and I am torn between being upset about missing an important meeting and missing the flight. Additionally, there was not even an apology for the inconvenience. The reason for missing the flight was the 40-minute delay of the first flight, despite selling a connecting ticket. This situation is not befitting of a world-class airline like Turkish Airlines.
